Sources close to several leading English clubs have expressed themselves surprised at the low level of punishments meted out by the EPL and UEFA, saying that the deterrents against further flirtations with breakaway competitions don’t go far enough.
Off The Pitch has also been given an insight into some of the behind the scenes disunity that saw the rebel 6 clubs agree “gestures of goodwill” totalling a combined £22 million, rather than suffer more significant financial punishments or points deductions.
