Manchester United are once again close to a record-breaking sponsorship deal.

Despite the club's unstable on-pitch performances in recent years and a poor start to the current season, United's brand remains strong, as the Chinese company Haier Group reportedly shows interest in becoming their new front-of-shirt sponsor.

The club's current £450 million deal with the American car manufacturer Chevrolet began in 2014 on the back of Sir Alex Ferguson's successful tenure at the club - a world record at the time.
