Group MD Richard Arnold claims there are “big opportunities” in open and existing sponsor categories.

United linked with 111 players in January transfer window but bought only Bruno Fernandes. Ed Woodward says a similar disciplined approach will be taken in the summer.

After arch rivals Man City hit with two-year UEFA ban, Woodward insists financial play rules are delivering benefits Europe-wide.

Manchester United managing director Richard Arnold says he is "bullish" about the prospect of bringing a slew of new sponsors to the Old Trafford club.

"It’s actually a very exciting time in sponsorship," he told investors in a conference call on Tuesday.

"The combination of the scale of what we offer globally, the ability to be a single solution on both live media across almost every TV set in the world as well as having the most engaged digital footprint both in Chinese and Western ecosystems means that we are fairly uniquely positioned."
