- After months of investigation, Manchester City have been referred to the Club Financial Control Body’s adjudicatory chamber for breaching the rules of Financial Fair Play.
- The investigation opened in March after several stories in the German magazine Der Spiegel showed Manchester City were backdating contracts and masking investments from the club owner as sponsorships.
- Manchester City deny any wrongdoing and criticise the investigation, calling it a “wholly unsatisfactory, curtailed, and hostile process.”
