Financial Report: Player acquisitions see Sampdoria record loss after three consecutive profitable years

Player transfers were the primary cause, but a rising wage bill also contributed.
Expensive player acquisitions caused Sampdoria to record a €13 million loss last season, the club's just-released financial report has revealed, putting an end to three consecutive years of profit for the Italian side.
Their turnover fell by €13 million to €129 million including player transfers. Though Sampdoria sold the likes of Joachim Andersen for €24 million to Lyon and Dennis Praet for €19.1 million to Leicester, players were purchased for a combined €67 million.
