This week AS Roma revealed a record-breaking loss of €204 million, strongly affected by the pandemic.

We have taken a closer look at the ten greatest post-tax deficits among European football clubs.

Man City and Inter Milan are the only clubs to have incurred a larger financial loss than Roma.

AC Milan have just revealed a new huge loss and the club have accumulating €467 million in losses after tax in the past three fiscal years.

Most eye-catching on the list, however, are French club Lille at fourth. Back-to-back annual losses forced the club to raise a €140 million loan in 2018. The loan, from American hedge fund Elliott, matures in 2021.
