AS Roma want to be more than a club through partnerships beneficial for fans, promoting clean energy and active social work, chief operating officer Francesco Calvo tells offthepitch.com.

A partnership with an Italian renewable energy firm is just one of the ways the club aim to go green.

Calvo expects the financial impact of the pandemic to hit the club even harder next season, but it will not remove their focus from environmental work.

The past months' suspension of play has made it clearer than ever that a modern football club need to rely on more than what happens on the pitch to be successful. Clubs have had to find new ways to engage with fans and consumers who in turn increasingly are demanding they actively address global and societal issues.
