Nottingham Forest's promotion triumph: Short-term victory, long-term questions

  • Marinakis took over the club in 2017 and invested over €100 million in the first five years of ownership, ultimately resulting in promotion to the EPL.

As the final whistle blew on a cool day at the end of May, the eyes of the world turned to Steve Cooper. Appointed eight months earlier with Nottingham Forest propping up the rest of the EFL Championship, now Cooper had overseen the most unlikely of promotions.
