1. Premier League refutes Newcastle's "incorrect" claim it rejected Saudi takeover

The Premier League has refuted Newcastle's claim it rejected the £300 million attempt by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to take over the club.

"The club's assertion that the Premier League has rejected the takeover is incorrect," the league said in a statement, describing it as "disappointed and surprised" by Newcastle's statement.
