Premier League shareholders unanimously voted in favour of appointing Gary Hoffman, the current chairman of Monzo Bank Limited, as the league's new chair.

Taking over from interim chair Claudia Arney, Hoffman will work alongside the league's chief executive, Richard Masters.

Premier League shareholders on Friday unanimously voted in favour of appointing banker Gary Hoffman as the chair of the English top flight, taking over from interim chair Claudia Arney.

Hoffman, the current chairman of neobank Monzo Bank Limited, Hastings Group Holdings and Coventry Building Society, was previously the chairman of the Football Foundation, Visa Europe, and vice chairman of Coventry City FC, before he was appointed to lead Northern Rock through its government bailout
