Manchester United have spent a massive £4.5 million per point during the 2018/19 season.

The club’s latest accounts, covering the 2017/18 season, showed a wage bill of £295.9 million, which equated to £4.48 million in player wages per point, if applied to each of the 66 points Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men gathered last season.

It was by far the highest pounds-per-point spend in the league, followed by relegated Huddersfield at £3.9 million per point and Chelsea at £3.4 million per point.
